2008 Summer Library Program
Catch the Reading Bug!
This year's summer library program will run from June 16 through August 15, 2008.
- Tuesday, June 17, 3:00pm Kickoff Event! Fishing for Laughs A fishing comedy show for kids and families by Curt Strutz "The Bassmeister." No registration necessary.
- Wednesday, June 18, 7:00pm Bug's Life (movie) G-rated. Feel free to bring your own snacks. We will provide popcorn. No registration is required.
- Saturday, June 21, 1:30-2:30pm Winnie the Pooh is a Hunny! Party Winnie the Pooh will be visiting the library! Bring your little ones to meet the bear in person. Listen to Winnie stories, make some honey bee projects and eat some sweet-as-honey treats! Register for this free event by calling 767-2563 ext. 3 by June 19. Limit 25.
- Friday, June 27, 5:00pm Insect Horror Movie Festival - CANCELLED - Can you take it?! Two insect horror movies in a row! Watch Arachnophobia and Eight-legged Freaks back to back with your pals. This program is not for the squeamish. Both movies are rated PG-13 so you must pre-register with parental approval if you are younger than 13. Call the library to sign up by June 25. Limit 30.
- Wednesday, July 2, 6:30-8pm Butterfly Swarm Family Storytime Wear your butterfly wings if you have some. Stories, games, crafts, snacks. Appropriate for all ages. Register by June 30 by calling 767-2563 ext. 3
- Tuesday, July 8, Noon - 1:15pm (B)ugly Book Bunch Listen to a chapter from a different book each week while you eat the sack lunch you bring. We'll have dessert for you. Hear about giant bugs, creepy cockroaches and make fun, buggy projects. Meets three times. Also on July 15 and July 22. For kids entering grades 1 through 5 in the fall. Register for the entire series or for individual days by calling 767-2563 ext. 3 by July 1. Limit 15.
- Wednesday, July 9, 2:00pm How to Draw Cartoon Insects Illustrator Matt Laznicka will host a drawing workshop here in the library for school-age kids and young adults. Bring your imagination! Register by calling 767-2563 ext. 3 by July 2nd to participate. Limit 20.
- Tuesday, July 15, Noon - 1:15pm (B)ugly Book Bunch Listen to a chapter from a different book each week while you eat the sack lunch you bring. We'll have dessert for you. - Thursday, July 17, 2:30pm Truly Remarkable Loon Comedy juggling show. Nonstop comedy patter, lots of audience participation and a big dose of fun for the whole family. No registration required.
- Saturday, July 19, 2:00-3:30pm Tasty Bug Party - CANCELLED Yes, TASTY! Bugs are lunch for animals, insect-eating plants and even people! Explore the world of edible bugs with stories, games, and yummy snacks. Register for this party by calling 767-2563 ext. 3 by July 16. Limit 25.

- Saturday, August 2, 2:30pm Honeybees and Beekeeping Fascinating facts about honeybees and polination. An observation hive with live bees will be included. No registration required.
- Wednesday, August 13, 6:30-8pm Creepy, Crawly Critters Be prepared to be grossed out! Stories, games, crafts and snacks. Appropriate for all ages. Register by August 6 by calling 767-2563 ext. 3.
